Dial A Ride Gemma Walker

Brief Introduction to Client
Dial a Ride is a door to door service for the elderly and disabled It operates 7 days a week in Basingstoke town and surrounding areas In order to become a member you must have a long term or permanent disability which means you are unable to use public transport some of or all of the time Dial a Ride likes to involve their members when it comes to improving the service. They hold meetings in local areas where members can join and talk to staff Drivers will happily accompany members too and from the vehicle to homes Dial a Ride works best when members make next day bookings, schedules are usually busy from previous day bookings so unless there are conciliations there will be no available space

Target Audience This project is aimed at the elderly and disabled residents of Basingstoke Some elderly and disabled may be unaware of the Dial a Ride service, this project will raise awareness to my target audience as they will be able to join a fantastic service they were unaware of It’ll also be good for the members of Dial a Ride to see the service being advertised and being included in the film. They will be able to reach out to the target audience as they are themselves, for example, this will help new members to feel welcome to the service provided for the elderly and disabled
4
Project Ideas When making the promotional video I would like to include: An interview with the driver and the passengers Company logo watermarked throughout the video An action camera on the side of the bus to film the journey Clips of how the driver helps the disabled/elderly to get onto the bus Fast montage of the vehicle Names/titles Including information about the charity These ideas will help my target audience relate to the video because they get to see fully what help is out there for them. They will be able to get in contact with Dial A ride for more information, the video will be 60 seconds purely of footage of the service and interviews with members, drivers and other staff I will also be receiving guidelines from Dial A Ride themselves as what they would like to be included, this will allow me to finalise my ideas as well as working for a client

Timescale Before starting any of the production, I will arrange meetings with clients in order to plan dates for the filming Once all the meetings have taken place I will begin the Pre Production, I plan to have all of this completed within a week (maximum) Then I will be able to focus all my time on the filming and editing of the final project, once I have a structured film which isn't exactly finished, I plan on sending a rough copy to the Mayor to make sure that the initial ideas have been completed, this will allow me to get feedback from my client and add or delete anything required I also plan on sending a rough copy to Dial a Ride so they can get back to me within time and give me some feedback Like every other unit that I complete, I will leave myself some time before the deadline to go through and make sure all work is complete for the deadline I will be delivering my final project to my client on the 15th September 2014 ready for the Mayor’s Variety Show which takes place in October I will also be sending Dial A Ride a copy for themselves so they can put it on their website and promote their service
