Japanese people considered their ability to communicate in English quite low compared to their foreign counterparts (Q.1) Japanese people thought foreign visitors might know more about the culture than they actually do (Q.10) Japanese people thought foreign visitors would find Kyoto expensive, but the foreign visitors disagreed completely (Q.4)

Japanese people thought that foreign visitors might be more bothered by the number of tourists or effect of tourism than they actually are (Q.2) Japanese people seemed to underestimate the interest foreign visitors have in Japanese food and cuisine (Q.9)

All respondents agreed transport and ease of movement around the city was good (Q.3) All respondents agreed there may be some problems concerning language/communication (Q.5) All respondents strongly agreed tourism was very important to the city (Q.7) All respondents strongly agreed safety was not an issue (100% of foreign visitors) (Q.6)
