2 AST3 projects in Dome A/Dome C?
1st AST3 in Dome A 1st step of KDUST (2/4/…m) ambitious cosmology programme (WL, Transients, etc…) 2nd AST3 now under test in North China (Mohe). Could be installed in Dome C (Italo French station) Qubic in Dome C

6 Driving system considering for QUBIC mount
Similar to AST3 telescope Dual-motor gear drive system with backlash remove control. AC servo permanent magnetic synchronization motor will be used to drive the axes. Multi-pole resolver to feedback the axis position. Electronics device will be heated above - 10℃ with active heating unit.

44 QUBIC mount preliminary requirements
(from Jean-Christophe Hamilton) Azimith axis: rotation range +/-180° ~20°scans at a constant elevation at 20°/s in a few minutes Elevation axis: observing range 45°- 65° (min 30°for calibration) Optical axis: rotation angle +/-30° Absolute pointing accuracy: 20″RMS Working temperature: -85℃ Power consumption: less than 1kw

45 Structure considering
for QUBIC mount Pipe structure will be used to decrease the weight which will be helpful for transportation to the South Pole site. Structure will be analysed using FEM method to ensure its stiffness to support the ~1 metric ton instrument stably. Thermal factor will be considered carefully to ensure the structure have a perfect performance in the Antarctic low temperature, especially the bearing base. Bearing, gear, motor, reducer, resolver, and other important items will be developed and tested specially.
