This week… Our whole school focus has been RE and preparation for our Harvest Festival yesterday. We started the week by listening to the Bible story ‘Feeding the 5000.’ We also discussed the role of a food bank in a community and considered what foods we might donate to a food bank. We created a Harvest prayer using adjectives and alliteration. We performed a wonderful Harvest song called ‘Five a Day’ to the rest of our Foundation Phase friends and listened to a story from Rev. Hibbert. We were material investigators in our topic work this week and we helped to identify which materials were waterproof. We learnt the meaning of ‘absorbent’ and talked about the properties of different materials. We practised our coding skills using the Beebot (programmable toy) and Hwb, as we were set a challenge to input a set of instructions to collect items from Mr Grinling’s lunch. Thank you to all families who have sent in children’s home learning tasks. We are really enjoying sharing these as a class.
