1 Carbon Capture and the Environment
浙江大学化工学院国际学术交流讲座 Carbon Capture and the Environment Prof. Claus J. Nielsen Member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters Department of Chemistry University of Oslo, Norway Claus J. Nielsen is Professor at University of Oslo, Norway, where he currently is Head of the Environmental Sciences Section at the Chemistry Department. He is elected member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and has published more than 300 papers on spectroscopy, applied quantum chemistry, atmospheric chemistry and chemical kinetics. Since 2009 he has focused his research on environmental issues related to carbon capture. The Paris Agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2°C. This goal will require zero emissions sometime between 2030 and 2050 and swift implementation of large-scale Post Combustion Carbon Capture and Storage (PCCCS) to numerous existing fossil fueled power plants. Today the most mature PCCC technology for large-scale implementation is based on amine containing solvents. Tests at the CO2 Technology Centre Mongstad (Norway) have established that it is difficult to avoid ppm-level emissions of amines and their degradation products to the environment during operation of a large-scale capture plant. The concern is that the amines emitted subsequently will undergo photo-oxidation resulting in formation of potentially carcinogenic nitrosamines and nitramines. The presentation will review results from on-line emission measurements at TCM, experimental and theoretical studies of amine atmospheric chemistry, and field measurements of amines in ambient air. 时间: 年5月8日,上午10: :15 地点: 教十 5109 邀请人:何奕,施耀 化学工程与生物工程学院
