New site will: Be consumer-focused without neglecting our other audiences. Take advantage of all functionalities currently available on the Web. Offer a new organization of information which will make it easier for users to find appropriate content. Allow departments, divisions, and programs to update their own content.

Your Role as Web Editor Department/Division point person for your areas Web site. Collect content for posting from department members. Assure that content is reviewed as appropriate by leadership of department. Ensure that all hospital policies are followed in regard to your area’s Web site (consent forms, etc.). Work with other departments/divisions to collaborate on content where needed. Perform periodic reviews of your site to ensure that basic information (phone numbers, staff names, etc.) is accurate. Elect and train other Web Editors from your area.

What is a Content Management System?
A content management system (CMS) is a program used to create a framework for the content of a Web site It allows the Web Team to keep central control over the look and overall organization of the Web site, while allowing decentralized content updating. Allows Web editors to update and maintain their sites without requiring a large amount of technical knowledge.

Timeline Now – July 21st – Web Editors work offline on content, review, etc. June 24th – July 18th – Web Team migrates over the bulk of content to the new content management system (CMS) July 21st & 22nd – Web Editors are trained on using the CMS July 22nd – September 12th - Web Editors can edit/add to their content before the site goes live. September 16th – Go Live!
