2 The string family In the string family there are violins, double bass, bass, violas and the harp not including the cello. Double-bass Harp Bass Cello Viola Violin

3 The cello is made of wood mainly maple or spruce and the strings are metal.
Finger board This is used to place your fingers on the strings to make different sounds F-hole makes the sound enter the instrument and vibrate to create sound C-bout is for playing with a bow. Four strings to pluck or bow. tail Bow Is used for playing. The scroll Tuning pegs The spike which is used as an anchor. Fine tuners for small corrections bridge

4 The cello is a very large instrument
The cello is mainly played with a bow but can also be plucked with fingers. The sound is made when vibrating in the hollow body. Over centuries the cello has been tuned differently. The cello is the youngest in the violin family. It was first invented in Italy in the 16th century. The pitch ranges from c-a. It is low pitched.
