Module 14: Lesson 1 Angles Formed by Intersecting Lines
An angle is made up of 2 sides that are rays and a vertex. Side: ray Side: ray Ray: Part of a line that has an endpoint and extends forever in one direction. Vertex Vertex: The common endpoint of the sides of an angle.
2
Vertical Angles: The nonadjacent angles formed by intersecting lines.
Congruent: Having the same size and shape 2 3 1 4 All vertical angles are congruent.
3
Supplementary Angles: 2 or more angles whose measures have a sum of 180°
Adjacent Angles: 2 angle with a common vertex and a common side, but no common interior points. 2 3 Linear Pair: 2 angles that form a straight line and share a common vertex. 1 4 All linear pairs are supplementary

Complementary Angles: 2 or more angles whose measures have a sum of 90°
B C D E A F G Angles must be described with 3 letters. The 1st letter is a point one of the sides goes through, the 2nd letter is the vertex, and the 3rd letter is a point on the other side. There is an exception. C A B
