STAGE DIRECTIONS – instructions to the actors, director, and stage crew that describes the setting, character’s movements, and props; written in ITALICS or (parenthesis) throughout the play
DIALOGUE – written conversation between 2 or more characters; brings characters to life and gives reader’s insight into the character’s qualities, traits, and reactions to other characters
