1 Redemption By Olivia and Eden

2 The action of saving or being saved from sin, error or evil.
What is redemption?

3 Genesis 6-9 Noah’s Ark

4 God reveals himself in this situation by giving Noah the knowledge and instruction to build the ark and preserve the lives of him, his family, and 2 of every kind of earth’s creatures. In this story God is the judge, full of both anger and compassion. He’s a judge in this story because he determines that the people on earth are wicked and destructive of His creation, and that they must be wiped off the earth. In this story, God resolves to wipe out His creation because it has become corrupt and violent. Through all of the wickedness, Noah and his family found favor in the Lord’s eyes and were saved. How does God reveal Himself in this situation? Who is God here? What does He do?

5 “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, ‘I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.’” This shows God’s anger through His judgment of the people’s sinful behaviour. Genesis 6: 5-7

6 “But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord
“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” This shows God’s compassion towards those who were righteous. Genesis 6: 8-9

7 The human characters in this story are Noah, his family and all of the rest of the human population. Noah responds by following God’s instructions, while the rest of the world carries on living in sin. Who are the human characters in this situation? How do they respond to God?

8 How does this situation foreshadow what God does through Jesus Christ?
This situation foreshadows what God does by showing how God saves the righteous and will one day cleanse the world from sin again. How does this situation foreshadow what God does through Jesus Christ?
