Noah’s Ark

4. God reveals himself in this situation by giving Noah the knowledge and instruction to build the ark and preserve the lives of him, his family, and 2 of every kind of earth’s creatures. In this story God is the judge, full of both anger and compassion. He’s a judge in this story because he determines that the people on earth are wicked and destructive of His creation, and that they must be wiped off the earth. In this story, God resolves to wipe out His creation because it has become corrupt and violent. Through all of the wickedness, Noah and his family found favor in the Lord’s eyes and were saved.

5. “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, ‘I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.’”
This shows God’s anger through His judgment of the people’s sinful behaviour.

“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.”
This shows God’s compassion towards those who were righteous.
