The values above the arrows are standardized partial regression (β) coefficients which indicate change in the outcome variable ( V ˙ o 2 and tolerance) in standard deviation units. The change noted in a predictor is controlled for the effects of other predictors in the equation. The curved lines indicate a correlation between pairs of predictors (full correlation matrix available upon request).
