Mucous membrane of the oral cavity:
1. lining mucosa (mobile; ventral side of tongue, mucosa of cheeks, lips, floor of mouth, soft palate), 2. masticatory mucosa (immobile; gingiva, hard palate - Mukoperiosteum) and 3. specialized mucosa (dorsum of tongue: papillae). oral epithelium: keratinized or non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium lamina propria +minor salivary glands
