First Migration to North America
The BERING STRAIT hypothesis the most widely accepted theory of how North America was first settled First occupants initially migrated to Alaska years ago Sunken sea levels caused immense plains to emerge These plains would have linked Asia to Alaska – Bering Strait (Beringia) Hunters followed animals from Asia to the Americas via Bering Strait

B) Subsequent Migrations
For thousands of years nomadic population occupied Alaska Years Ago Approximately 15,000 years ago, the retreat of ice allowed the first Aboriginal people to settled in Central North America/Canada Years Ago Native peoples settled in present day Quebec 1000 Years Ago Ancestors of the Inuit, Thule people arrived in the Arctic from present day Alaska, much later on – by the year 1000.
