1 Dreams: Hopes, Aspirations, and Perseverance

2 General ideas and themes
Dreams, hopes, aspirations, and perseverance allow children to see a positive light in life, even in dark times. There is always something more to life— one should never give up. The students will see how the characters overcame their hardships and will learn to apply these ideas to their own lives.

3 Objectives Students will learn how to solve problems in their own lives as they link them to the novels. Students will predict and draw conclusions about what characters should, or could, have done. Students will identify components of the story to reach their own dreams and much more.

4 Objectives Students will use methods, concepts, and theories in new situations. Students will grasp meanings from the selected novels—especially when they pertain to them. Students will understand information on a much deeper level as it is transmitted to them through the selected novels.
