Speaking and Listening Controlled Assessment 20% Unit 2 Exam: Reading and Writing to Narrate, Describe, Explain 40% June Unit 3 Exam: Reading and Writing to Argue, Persuade, Instruct 40% June Walking/Talking Practice Exams - last week of half term (from 17th Oct). Group Discussion – 10% next half term Individual Presentation re-sit - 10% after Christmas Practice Exams (PiXL Curve) - March

9 BTEC Structure 1 EXTERNAL UNIT
These units are assessed via external exams. They are marked externally. Pupils must sit this external unit to be able to claim certification. The exam can be paper-based or an online test. There are set times throughout the year when these can be sat. Resits – pupils do have the opportunity to resit these exams.

10 BTEC Structure 3 INTERNAL UNITS
These units have assignments that are coursework based. Pupils have to answer tasks based on different learning aims within the unit. Departments set internal deadlines for these assignments. If they fail the assignment they do have an opportunity to resubmit.

11 BTEC Grading At unit level, the grades are:
Level 2 Pass, Level 2 Merit, Level 2 Distinction Level 1 Unclassified. These units are then combined to give an overall qualification graded at:
