1st quarter: Focus on word level. Learn basic characters, Introduce Pinyin
2nd – 4th quarter: around 150 Chinese spelling words
Reading: daily for fluency & comprehension memory
Writing: Chinese Journal, linked to Social Studies and Science

Tests: Every Thursday. Writing basic words, phrases for each unit.

Chinese words or phrases first and then transition into simple sentences.

6. Behavior Policy Start the day in the green part “Ready to learn”
The students are rewarded for making good choices. They have the opportunity to change the color to blue(Awesome Job!).
Negative choices move them down to yellow.
Even if a child gets yellow, she/he gets the chance to move back up.

9. Please sent the school and me an email when your child is out sick
Please sent the school and me an when your child is out sick. It is important that your child is in school every day, except when they are sick.
Make-up work will be given when students return to school. If your child is sick for two or more days, assignments can be picked up in the office if parents call and request the work.
Please try to schedule trips, doctor and dentist visits not during school hours.
Every moment at Waddell is a learning moment missed if absent.
