6th GRADE CHATTANOOGA FIELD TRIP IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES
May 8 and May 9, 2017

Departure from TRMS: Students should arrive at TRMS between 6:30 and 6:45AM. Upon arrival, find the sign for your chaperone in the cafeteria.

Chaperones will assign seating sections on your designated bus.
Males and females are not allowed to sit together on the bus.

CLOTHING: *All students should bring a jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt. Please check the weather for Chattanooga for your designated day. Remember, it will be cooler on the bus, in the caverns, and in the aquarium.

*All students attending must wear the grey 6th Grade TRMS t-shirt.
*Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, such as tennis shoes, for touring. NO FLIP-FLOPS! *Appropriate hats are welcome! *Label all jackets, sweaters, hats, etc. with your name and phone number. ***PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE DEODORANT. YOUR BUS MATES WILL THANK YOU!!!!

Non-Prescription/Prescription Medication and
Personal Insurance Information *All medications should be enclosed in a zip-lock bag and labeled with the student’s name. Include instructions for dosage. *This includes both prescription and non-prescription items. *Items that are not on the approved list of items for students to carry MUST be given to the chaperone. *YOUR MEDICATION MUST BE GIVEN TO YOUR CHAPERONE ON THE MORNING OF YOUR TRIP.

FOOD: *Students may bring snacks as long as they are in zip-lock bags or other secure, disposable containers that will prevent spillage. *NO peanut-based snacks are allowed on the bus. *Water must be in a plastic container with a screw-on top. Glass bottles and/or cans are not permitted. **YOU are responsible for cleaning up after yourself.

Bags & Personal Items: *A small backpack or string bag is suggested to carry all of your “bus items.” *Label everything with your name. *These items are the sole responsibility of the student. Chaperones will not carry or be responsible for students’ personal items. Some items you might want to bring: *pen or pencil to complete work *rain poncho *spending money for souvenirs *cell phone (labeled with a sticker) *Purses, backpacks, string bags, etc. should all have student’s name and phone number inside. *Earbuds/headphones are permitted, but portable speakers are not. *All music and games must be school appropriate. *Laptops (either personal ones or school-issued ones) are not permitted. These items are only suggestions, and are up to the discretion of each parent and student. LABEL, LABEL, LABEL everything you take, so it can be returned if lost.

Arrival back at TRMS: Our estimated time of arrival is between 6:00 and 7:00PM, depending on traffic. Students will call parents when we are close, so they can be picked up in a timely manner. We are excited about our trip and look forward to a successful educational experience for our 6th graders!!
