7 Miracles show His Generosity

8 John 4:6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

9 They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

10 Healings by Jesus 30+ healings recorded 20 references to mass healings
"Nearly one-fifth of the Gospel accounts is devoted to Jesus' healing ministry and the discussion occasioned by it. Out of 727 of 3,779 verses in the four Gospels -Gary Wiens, THE HEALING MINISTRY OF JESUS

11 John 21:25 25 Jesus did many other things as well
John 21:25 25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

12 today? Metaxas Moises Me More

13 today “What makes it a miracle is that God performed it to make himself known, to communicate with human beings.” –Eric Metaxas Miracles

14 Purpose of miracles: “sign”
John 4; "This is again a second sign that Jesus performed"   A sign can direct you to some destination, someplace where you are not now but want to be. Jesus used His healing miracles as signs, directing you and me to where He wants us to be. In other words, Jesus' healing miracles were not the goal any more than a sign is the destination.

15 Purpose of miracles: “sign”
John 4; "This is again a second sign that Jesus performed" The sign directs us, and Jesus intended His miracles to direct people to a greater goal. That goal, that destination, that end, was so people would believe in Him as their Savior.

16 “SignS” point to a cross an empty tomb and your place in heaven

17 The most generousmiracle of all
God so loved the world that he gave… Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for a friend…

18 Miracles are not done to bring heaven to earth but to bring earth to heaven

19 Let me see the real you, Jesus
Let me see the real you, Jesus! Open my eyes, and let me see the real you. Amen
