PROBLEM STATEMENT
Can a tool be created to mitigate the damage to the V-Tail mount bracket?
BENEFITS
The use of this tool will save a minimum of 24-48hrs downtime per aircraft and roughly $100K yearly in engineer disposition costs.
TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION
Fabricate edge protectors for the titanium gussets as well as an extractor to remove the bolt without damaging the fracture critical part.

3. Rod that holds both blocks together unifying the tool
Rod that holds both blocks together unifying the tool. There is also one that goes along the top.
Block sits between fracture critical gussets towards front of the A/C. V-Tail bolt is pressed into this block.

4. Long block that the rods bolt to.
