Geometry Notes: Vocabulary
Date: Geometry Notes: Vocabulary Lesson Objective: Learn geometry vocabulary. You will need: a pencil, smartphone This is Jeopardy!!!: This is the main difference between a line and a line segment.
2
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Plane: a flat surface or 2-dimensional (2-D) object, stretching to infinity in all directions Line, AB: a straight path that extends without end in opposite directions Line segment, AB: a part of a line between two points Bisect: to divide into two congruent parts

Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Parallel lines, | |: lines that have the same slope and therefore do not intersect Perpendicular, | : lines that intersect at 90° angles Coplanar (add this to the bottom of p. 1): lies on the same plane Collinear (add this at the top of page 2): points on the same line
4
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Intersect (add this to the bottom of p. 2):
5
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Intersect (add this to the bottom of p. 2): to cut across or overlap Skew (add this to the top of p. 3):
6
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Intersect (add this to the bottom of p. 2): to cut across or overlap Skew (add this to the top of p. 3): lines that never cross and are not parallel Arc, AB (add this to the bottom of p. 3):

Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Intersect (add this to the bottom of p. 2): to cut across or overlap Skew (add this to the top of p. 3): lines that never cross and are not parallel Arc, AB (add this to the bottom of p. 3): a part of a circle that is defined by two endpoints
8
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Ray, AB:
9
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Ray, AB: a part of a line that starts at an endpoint and extends forever in one direction Angle, / :
10
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Ray, AB: a part of a line that starts at an endpoint and extends forever in one direction Angle, / : a figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint Vertex:
11
Lesson 1: Geometry Vocabulary
Ray, AB: a part of a line that starts at an endpoint and extends forever in one direction Angle, / : a figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint Vertex: the point at which the endpoints of two rays intersect to form an angle
