2 The Roman Centurion Jesus used “unlikely” people to teach lessons (Mt. 8:11-12; 21:31-32; Lk. 17:18) The Roman centurion… Unbeliever - a Roman Hardened - commander of 100 soldiers; disciplined the men with a vine staff (vitis) Worldly - army lifestyle

3 Four Roman Centurions A man of faith (Mt. 8:5-13; Lk. 7:1-10)
Do we have the faith to simply take Jesus at his word without question or argument (Lk. 5:5; Jn. 4:50)?

4 Four Roman Centurions A man of confession (Mt. 27:54; Mk. 15:39; Lk. 23:47) Do we have the courage to confess Jesus before others (Mt. 10:32; Jn. 9:22; 12:42; Acts 24:14; Rom. 10:9; 1 Jn. 4:15)? Do we want Jesus to confess us (Rev. 3:5)?

5 Four Roman Centurions A man of obedience (Acts 10:1-48)
Do we have the interest, eagerness, enthusiasm, humility, and desire to obey the gospel (Mt. 7:21; Lk. 6:46; Heb. 5:9)?

6 Four Roman Centurions A man of principle (Acts 21:32; 22:25; 23:17, 23; 24:23; 27:1,6,11,31,43) Do we have the character to do what is right at all times, under all circumstances, even when others are not (1 Cor. 15:33; Heb. 5:14; 1 Pet. 3:11; 3 Jn. 11)?

7 Four Roman Centurions Will we take the gospel to “unlikely” converts?
Do we have the right kind of faith? Do we confess Jesus daily? Do we obey the gospel? Are we Christians with principles?
