4. Gender Types Students > Student > General
Gender is a Drop List (based on predefined types)
Gender Privacy - will discuss further during the Roommate Selection topic
Gender is no longer a required field

5. Hall/Floor/Room Config.
Room Gender
Male/Female: Corresponding to Male/Female Gender for Housing
Either: Open to any gender, but the room with take on the gender of the first student assigned.
I.e. if a Male selects the room, the room now has a Male assigned gender.
Mixed/Ignore: Open to all

6. Hall/Floor/Room Config.
Room Gender
Male/Female: Corresponding to Male/Female Gender for Housing
Either: Open to any gender, but the room with take on the gender of the first student assigned.
I.e. if a Male selects the room, the room now has a Male assigned gender.
Mixed/Ignore: Open to all

Hall & Floor Gender
Important to make sure your Hall & Floor rules respect the room gender configuration

When assigning a student, this screen will follow the Gender Rules of the Hall/Floor/Room
Ability to Ignore Gender Rules
Room Gender will display as M, F, E, X

9. Roommate Selection Enforce Gender Matching Rules

Display Gender in Results

12. Roommate Selection Gender Privacy
If Gender Privacy Ind. is true, the student will be HIDDEN from the advanced roommate search results if: 
the search is on full Gender
the display is set for full Gender
the student has a gender type that associates to Self Identified (X)

13. NULL Gender Values
Housing Director no longer considers Gender to be “required” and can accommodate students with NULL gender values.
When assigning students with a NULL gender, those students:
CANNOT see any rooms with a designated gender (Male/Female).
CANNOT see any rooms marked as “Either” with a student assigned who has a gender
CAN see any rooms marked as “Either” with a student who also has a NULL gender
CAN see everything if gender rules are ignored
When assigning a student with a gender, those students:
CANNOT see any rooms marked “Either” with assigned students with a NULL gender
CAN see all rooms of marked as “Mixed/Ignore”
