The dialysate-to-plasma (D/P) ratio of urea (upper panel) and the progressive removal of glucose from the dialysate (D/D0 glucose, lower panel) was determined for the three groups of mice (N=6 per group) during a 2-h exchange with Dianeal 3.86% (black squares), Glucose 199 mM + L-carnitine 15 mM (red triangles), and Glucose 171 mM + L-carnitine 43 mM (blue triangles). The type of dialysate had no effect on the transport of urea and glucose.
