2. Read page 1and 2 aloud with your group.
After Reading:
In the “Thinking about Reading” section of your notebook, write The Most Dangerous Game at the top of a blank page.
Describe the setting (WHEN, WHERE, and MOOD).
Make a list of the characters (2 characters).

3. Read page 3 and 4 silently by yourself.
After Reading:
ADD to the setting (where is Rainsford now?).
Add to the character list (two new characters).

4. Follow along as you listen to pages 5 and 6
After reading:
What is “the most dangerous game”?
Why is the island called “Ship-Trap Island”?

5. Read page 7; stop at the end of the first column on page 8.
After reading:
Explain how the hunt works.
What is General Zaroff’s complaint?

6. Follow along as you listen to the rest of page 8, 9, and 10
After reading:
Begin a list titled “Traps” and explain the first trap that Rainsford created.

7. Read page 11 and the first paragraph on page 12.
After reading:
Add the second and third traps that Rainsford created to your list and explain each.

8. Follow along as you listen to page 12.
After reading:
Who won the game? How do you know?
