3.14 Microscan MS-860 Scanner Configuration
Go to “IPC Setup” folder menu as shown below and select “Microscan Scanner Setting” folder. 1

In the “Microscan Scanner Setting” folder, copy the correct configuration setting folder according to machine type to C:\. 1

The following steps can only be done at the machine when the Microscan Scanners have been setup at the machine. Load the files in the folder as shown below. The appropriate scanner configurations are set in these files. 1

Double click on the selected file
Double click on the selected file. A window will prompt out as shown in Figure Click “Yes” to connect to the scanner. 1

Select RS-232 as the protocol to be used and click “Next” to continue.

Select the com port which the scanner is connected to
Select the com port which the scanner is connected to. Then, click “Connect”. These scanners should be connected as the COM Port number shown below: Scanner 1 – COM6 Scanner 2 – COM7 Scanner 3 – COM8 Scanner 4 – COM9 1

A window will prompt out to show the connecting progress.

Click on the “Send/Receive” button, select “Save to Reader” and then “Send and Save” to save and download the configurations to the scanner. 1

Next, click on “Terminal” button to access to terminal page
Next, click on “Terminal” button to access to terminal page. At the bottom of the page, click on the “Enable Serial Trigger” button follow by the “Send Trigger Character” button. 1

Repeat steps 14.4 – 14.12 for all scanners.
Finally, use the scanner to scan a sample barcode to verify that the scanner is able to work properly. Repeat steps 14.4 – for all scanners. 1
