9 Participation of Women in the Cooperative Movement
Women are integrated into the base, but do not reach senior positions. 21% of the Boards of Cooperatives in Dominican Republic are women. The reason: the different roles of women left them unable to integrate in the massive bodies of the cooperative sector. “What is in the female world, where is “the market”, “the member”, from which must grow in participation and inputs of capital cooperativism.

10 Participation of Women in Cooperatives
Establish quotas for women in administrative positions. Dissemination, education and training of women to join the cooperative system. Appoint committees to review the participation on an equal footing. Decisions affecting the family requiring the approval of the couple. Development of a cooperative law of equality. Despite the difficulties, women's participation has been increasing in recent years.

11 Participation of Women in Cooperatives
