Game is major industry 2011 was a record year for Swedish developers. Sales almost doubled, an increase of 96 percent to 2.32 billion kronor*. According to Game Developer Index 2011, A report which is based on a compilation of annual reports from companies operating in game development. Over half of the companies are profitable with the industry reporting a combined profit for the third consecutive year, profits increased by 747 percent. The number of industry professionals saw an increase of 26 percent to 1,512 employees, which is also a new record, with the number of women in the industry also experiencing an increase of 74 percent. *250億円
