Peralta Community College District Background Results / Next Steps Peralta Community College District is composed of four colleges: Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College; focusing on the triple bottom line: Equity, Economic, and Environment. MBCx: The District is currently in the bidding process. After all forms are submitted, one company will be awarded the project based on Best Value. LED Lighting Retrofit: Berkeley City College Implementation Phase College of Alameda Library Developing the Scope of Work Laney College Library Planning Phase Project: Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx): MBCx: Monitor system/equipment performances and ensure maximum efficiency. Identify low-performing system/equipment Record spatial location and nameplate Measure equipment Create project requirements Lead mandatory contractors Bid-Walk Assist in Request for Information Experience Project: LED Lighting Retrofit: Lighting Retrofit: Upgrade existing fixture with more energy efficient technology Identify areas most affected by poor lighting quality Gather critical lighting information Record statistical data Lead mandatory contractors Bid-Walk Successful Strategies: Develop a strong communication skill Allocate more time to subprojects and meetings Bring a camera with you at all times Have fun (human component) Recommendation: Collaboration between Department and Colleges to support students’ success.
