Black African House Event By House Captains and Vice House Captains
On Friday, 10th of October we went to different classes in our house colour groups. We were pleased that some parents were able to join us. The theme of the afternoon related to black culture and history. As well as learning about people who tried to make the world a fairer and more equal place we learnt a lot about black culture through creative activities. We really enjoyed the food that parents brought in from their own cultures and a number of classes made their own food. Some children from green house made a pineapple upside down cake, children from red house made shuku shuku coconut balls and everyone had the chance to eat pineapples and bananas. Other activities included singing in Swahili, hair braiding and African artwork in the style of Tinga Tinga. We had a really enjoyable assembly on Tuesday when children shared and celebrated their work. Yenworthy Trip The final deadline for Yenworthy Trip money is Friday 14th November unfortunately if full payment is not received by this date your child will be unable to attend this trip. Halloween Disco Tickets are currently on sale for our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Halloween Disco from the school reception. Tickets are selling fast and are sold on a first come first served basis. Tickets are £1.00 each and there will be 100 tickets available for each disco
