A Note From the Kindergarten Teachers
We are practice Habit 2 of the 7 Habits of a happy kid. Habit 2 is Begin with the End in Mind. Which means we are working on making a plan and setting goals. Our goal for kindergarten is improve our first sound fluency. You can help your child at home by saying a word and having him/her telling you the first sound of the word.
Please read with your child every night.
Please make sure your child does his/her homework and practice his/her sight words.
We will be going on a field trip this month, be on the look out for the paperwork in your child’s folder.
A Peek At What We Are Learning
Reading
We are learning how to read from left to right and pointing to each word. We are learning to distinguish letters and words. We are also learning about characters in books.
Writing
We are practicing writing our names.
Math
We are practicing counting and representing numbers from 1 to 10.
Fundations
We are continuing to learn letter sounds and how to properly write letters.
