Good afternoon parents and guardians!
We have had another wonderful week in first grade. We are reviewing our social contract and working hard on what it means to be responsible and how it looks and sounds.
In Reading we have been working on our routines and rotaions. We have started our small groups with focused reading strategies and phonemic awareness activities.
In math, we are working on the addition and subtraction strategy of making a quick picture. Making a quick picture helps students visualize how numbers work. A quick picture should be just that, quick; circles, x’s, hearts, smiles.
