A long list of titles usually presented as a bibliography, which is rarely referred to in the body of the text Try and stick to a shorter list of titles, as ‘references’ which are used to support and develop the arguments in text

Needs to be systematic and organised A diary or log is recommended Select relevant materials only Make summarised notes of key points Be critical of what you read Consider who the authors are pitching their materials for Think about the issues raised by the author Consider the plausibility of the points being raised Create a theme or structure for the literature review
