1. Native American Shield Requirements
Create Shield on poster board
Cut out in circular shape
I have circle templates you may trace onto your poster board
Fine-line and Color (including your background) your Shield
Include hand-drawn pictures (at least 2 or 3) with labels in each section of your Shield:
Top Left: Housing
Top Right: Food (at least 2 to 3)
Bottom Left: Special Characteristics or Customs (at least 2 to 3)
Bottom Right: Location in Texas (& label name of tribe)
Center Circle: Name of Tribe and Your Native American Name (create a name for yourself)
Back of Shield: Include your first and last name & class period
You may use beads, feathers, strips of leather, etc. to decorate your Shield

3. Native American Caricature Requirements
Pick a tribe that you have learned about this year in Texas History.
Draw and color a member (person) from the tribe you have chosen for your caricature.
Identify things that the person is wearing, holding, or doing that represent his/her tribe. You need to include and label at least 5 facts that differentiate that Native American from other Native American tribes.
Provide a title (include the name of your tribe)
