Engagement Priorities Year One – Achieved!
Expanding podcast library 3-year engagement plans in place for priority cities/regions Calendar of key university events and lectureships created and promoted to alumni Life After Trent advisory committee to undertake review and make recommendations for growth and sustainability of program Coordinate new convocation ceremonies for Trent Durham grads Plan permanent alumni presence in new Student Centre

Meet Alumni Student Centre challenge goals Include stories of donor and volunteer impact in TRENT magazine Implement plan for TUARP members, including a retiree tea held annually for new members

Launch new approach to TRENT magazine Achieve an annual budget in order to publish and distribute third edition of magazine in hard copy Introduce new website that is engaging and easier to navigate Develop a plan to increase the number of contactable alumni Launch redesigned electronic monthly newsletter, Alma Matters

Organize 2 Shared Interest Groups (1 already in place) Conduct review of Alumni and TUAA student awards and work to heighten impact of these activities Design online tool to help alumni learn about ways to engage Have plan to engage with students at least once in each year of study Assess interest in a 5 year reunion program Create Day of Service initiative to encourage alumni to volunteer in their community as representatives of the TUAA and Trent Spirit Assess interest in Student Alumni Association

New online magazine platform in place - Trent Magazine Live Implement annual focus group on social media and communications tools Tailor communications so they are more relevant to individuals

Acquire resources necessary to update alumni database Develop a toolkit for departments, colleges, and university communities who wish to better engage with their alumni Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program Develop and share toolkit for Chapters and Shared Interest Groups to empower alumni to self-organize Work with university to develop profiles and multi-media elements featuring alumni Actively fundraise to ensure an ongoing stream of revenue for enhanced alumni programming

We know data management and use is integral to the success of alumni communication, engagement, and programming, but access and use can be challenging as we navigate privacy concerns

Major Successes $100K donation from anonymous alumni; $50K to assist in the implementation of the strat plan and $50K for the Alumni Excellence & Engagement Endowment Fund 3-Year volunteer recruitment, development, and recognition plan well underway 4 alumni-designated external seats on TU BoG, up from 2 representative seats Increased and improved relationships between BoG, TUAA, and Alumni Affairs More strategic communications – online and in print
