2 Intel® Teach to the Future Program Objective
To integrate technology in day to day teaching and learning process Enhance teacher productivity by developing technology skills Promote enquiry based learning and higher level thinking skills among students Ultimately enhance student learning

4 Karnataka Govt., Teachers Training Project
Joint Venture of Intel® Teach to the Future and Department of Education, Karnataka Govt. Intel® trained one teacher from each Mahiti Sindhu School as Master Trainer Master trainer trained rest of the teachers in their respective school Project started June 25, 2001 as Pilot in Bangalore Scaled up to 32 education districts from September 2001 Training of MTs Completed in March 2002

5 Achievements Over 900 Mahiti Sindhu Schools participated in the program Over 700 HMs Oriented 952 MTs Trained 6664 teachers trained by MTs

Our Strength Intel® Trained Master Trainers All teachers of the school trained on Intel® Program Good Infrastructure Enthusiastic computer faculty Interested students My School a SMART SCHOOL Then Were are we heading towards?? What can we achieve??

8 Smart School Concept Model schools that use present day technology in teaching and learning process Promote self-learning and Higher level thinking skills among students Exemplary schools with a holistic development

9 Smart Schools of Karnataka Government
GHS, Prakash Nagar GHS, Police Colony GPU, Jalahalli GPU, Peenya

10 Objective To implement Technology Aided Learning (TAL) in school curriculum Students to develop technology aided assignments based on school curriculum

11 Methodology Teachers to develop technology aided projects and demonstrate projects to students in the computer lab Divide students into different groups, the student groups would develop technology aided assignment based on the lesson they have learnt Teachers to evaluate student projects Students to showcase best projects

12 Mapping computer agency syllabus with TAL
Implementation of TAL will be according to the scheduled syllabus of the computer agency Students instead of developing dummy presentations and documents will be guided to develop subject based projects

13 Plans and Time lines Each school to implement at least 3 technology aided lessons in a month Accordingly at least three technology aided assignments will be developed by students in a month Each school would develop lessons on different topic and share the lessons among smart schools

14 Monthly Internal school meetings
Participants: HM of the school, school staff, student representatives, and Intel® Trainer Agenda: Progress done in the month Demonstration of the projects Problems faced and suggestions Plans for next month Plans for Inter-school meet

15 Inter-School Meet All four school to participate
Venue: one of the smart school Participants: All four HMs, All MTs, teachers and students Agenda: Progress report of each school by HM Demonstration of 1-2 projects Sharing of resources and lesson plans Plans for next Inter-school meet

16 Role of DSERT The DDPI, DSERT Bangalore to inform NIIT regarding the smart school concept Helps to monitors the progress of TAL in smart schools

17 Role of Intel® Teach to the Future
Provide Internet access support and educational CDs to the smart schools Facilitate school meeting and inter-school meets Assist in Implementing methodology Provide suggestions for Evaluation

18 Role of Head Masters Motivate and guide teachers for implementing TAL
Provide lab usage time for teachers to develop and demonstrate projects Provide instructions to computer faculty to work closely with subject teachers Document the progress of the smart school

19 Expectation of Master trainers
Develop and implement technology aided projects Support and guide other teachers to develop projects and implement Guide students to develop technology aided assignments Guide computer faculty on TAL Conduct Internet research and collect multimedia resources for the school

20 Expectations from School teachers
Collaborate with Master trainers and computer faculty Develop and implement technology based lessons Involve students in technology based activities Work towards a common goal (smart school)

21 Expectation of the computer faculty
Cooperate with MTs, Teachers and students in using computer lab Assist in development of projects Provide technical support to teachers and students
