1 Understanding the IB & CAP Programs ===
The IB program has three important components: the core, the options, and the francophonie. However, the core and options are connected with the francophonie. The core includes activities that students need to complete within the length of the programme (2 years). The options include two units that teachers need to choose in which students will be tested for the internal and external assessment.

Diversite culturelle Science et technologie There are five options, and teachers have to choose only two options. For this class, Mr. Pierre chose the following two options: les loisirs, et la diversite’ culturelle.

5 Core and options are connected with la francophonie
La francophonie refers to the culture of French speaking countries worldwide. French speaking countries have their inter governmental organization called l’agence de la Francophonie. The headquarter of the agency of francophonie is Paris (France). All French speaking countries are members of la Francophonie.

6 External assessment Paper 1 (1h 30): 4 texts and questions
Paper 2 (1h 30): Questions are based on options. Paper 2 length: 300 – 400 words. For paper 1, students read all 4 texts and answer questions. For paper 2 students choose a topic related to their option. Students will be instructed about the type of text to write. However, regardless of the text that will be required to write, the text length should be words. This will specified in the assignment.

7 is based on options Individual Oral Oral assessment
For this assessment the teacher choose a topic of interest for student, and selects two pictures with a title. Students should describe pictures, and a discussion with the teacher will follow. The topic should be in relation with the options. The discussion will be recorded and submitted to the IB headquarters.

15 minutes (Preparation) 4 Minutes (Presentation) 6 Minutes (Discussion)

9 Internal Assessment Three interactive class activities
Among interactive activities, one should be an auditory activity This internal assessment entails class activities graded by Mr. Pierre, and grades will be submitted to the IB headquarters. 9

10 Assessment criteria Written & oral assessments: what is assessed?
Language Content Text format A good language use includes: transitional words, appropriate punctuation, appropriate language register. An appropriate text format should be used. For instance, if you’re writing a formal letter or an (courriel), you should use an appropriate form.
