FYI Kentucky requires a COMPLETE ILP to graduate.
The ILP is GREAT to keep up with information for scholarships and resumes throughout the year. You need to have this completed by April 31st, 2017 There will be a competition/drawing for 5 students to win a lunch pass this semester and next semester. Follow along for how to enter the competition! One last note: Be sure you always log out (not “X” out) of your ILP to prevent others from tampering with your ILP. LET’s GO!

TAKE YOUR TIME! Begin with “Explore My Interests” tab and choose “Matchmaker & My Skills”

When you finish, complete …..
My Saved Careers My Saved Clusters

Start Career Selector

Click “Save to my ILP” when finished

Education… Go to “My Education”

Click on “My Saved Schools” & complete this section

Click on “My saved majors and complete this section.
Click on “find majors” if no majors are listed

You should see this screen. If not, go back to this screen and it
should look like this. Click the blue “find majors”

Type in a career and search OR choose one from the options listed

When you see this screen, make sure you Filter by program type & state

Be sure to “save to my ILP”

Go back to “My Education”

Make sure you have selected a school type:

Next, choose “Education History”

Click on “Add Educational Experience”

Fill in the information for SHS and click “Save”

Click on “My Careers”

Make sure “My Saved Careers” and “My Saved Clusters” sections are completed

Go back to “My Careers” and choose “Start Career Selector”

Choose School subjects then click on “career Cluster” arrow…

Under the career clusters, make your choices then click “Type of Education” arrow

Choose your type of education then click “Core Tasks” arrow

Choose your Core Tasks and then click the “Earnings” arrow

Choose your desired earnings, then click “Working Conditions” arrow

Choose the working conditions you would NOT like, then click “View Results”

Look at your results, and click “Save to my ILP”

Continue You should have a good idea of how to progress through your ILP at this point. You will need to return to beginning screen:

Go to the counseling website for this PowerPoint with link to your ILP to assist you in the remainder of the ILP. Everyone with a correctly completed ilp* by DECEMBER 31st will be entered into a drawing for a lunch pass. total of 5 lunch passes will be drawn for. This does not include the 2 surveys *See last slide for more details

Continue and complete the following sections:
My Goals and Plans Career and Life Goals (enter short and long term goals) Post Secondary Goals (complete all tabs) Career Planning Activities (you have to enter at least one activity)

Complete all of these sections (Note: This is an AWESOME way to keep up with all of your activities, awards, community service, & work experience to use when filling out scholarship applications and/or resume) Organization & Activities (you must enter at least one) Hobbies and Interest (you must enter at least one) Skills and Abilities (you must enter at least one) Awards & Certificates (you must enter at least one) Community Service (you must enter at least one) Work experience (enter “none” if you have none)

Course of Study (will take time to complete)
You will have to “Add Course” for most courses. It depends on your grade level whether or not you have to enter courses completed and/or courses you will complete in subsequent years.

Building a Resume Though this is not required for the 85% completion, it is a GREAT tool. Select “Build my Resume”.

After you finish choosing what you would like on your resume & added references, click “Format and Print”

Choose your style and set order then you can preview your resume

You can export your resume, print your resume, and print your references

Go back to “My Progress”
If you see that you are 85% complete by December 31st, your name will be entered into a drawing. There will be 5 students that receive one lunch pass to be used by April 1st, 2017. The two surveys DO NOT count towards the 85% Your ILP will be reviewed for accurate answers. An ILP that is 85% completed but has not been completed accurately (i.e. you’ve just put answers in to get it finished) will NOT be entered into the drawing We will have another drawing for 100% completion Spring semester. *Remember, a completed ILP is a requirement for graduation. These must be completed by April 31st, 2017.
