A book review is an exercise in analysis (a critical assessment of what the book says, not an exercise in description (simply what the author says).

Introduction: Why have you chosen this book? What do you wish to gain from reading it?
Contents: Analyze the major concepts that may be new to you and themes of the book; the major theses or arguments of the book; and, the theories that may be elaborated.

4. IV. Questions: List six questions that were raised in your mind by the book in bullet point form.
V. Conclusion: Re-state your major arguments concisely and assess the overall impact of the book i.e., did you achieve what you wanted by reading the book? State whether you would recommend this book to other students and why.
