The Balearic archipelago is located in the eastern Mediterranean. It is formed by four main islands: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera ibiza mallorca formentera menorca cabrera

Mallorca is the largest island with an area of 3,667 km².
Pollensa Bay Mallorca is the largest island with an area of 3,667 km². Large sandy beaches, cliffs and secluded coves exist along the 565 km of its coast. The 90 kilometre-long Serra de Tramuntana is the most extensive natural area on Mallorca, offering an excellent natural environment for active excursions.

Vegetation offers a series of endemic species.
There are huge holm-oak woods, not only in the higher parts of the mountains, but also in the lower areas. In some places, great extensions of pine woods have replaced the holm oaks

Regarding ornithology, many species live in the Tramuntana range of mountains or pass through while emigrating to other parts of the world. There are large numbers of of birds of prey, such as fisher eagles and sea falcons.

S'Albufera Nature Reserve lies in the north of Majorca, in l'Alcúdia bay. It is a marshy coastline formed by lakes and natural and artificial canals

The presence of vertebrates in the area deserves a mention
The presence of vertebrates in the area deserves a mention. These include, martens, weasels, tortoises and the calopet, amongst others.

However, birds dominate this open space, namely the marsh harrier, little bittern, black-winged stilt, purple heron, 'vascon' and moustached warbler.

National Park Cabrera is the only marine parkland of Spain
National Park Cabrera is the only marine parkland of Spain. It is located south of Mallorca and is composed of 19 smaller islands and islets, covering an area of 1318 hectares, in addition to the surrounding marine zone of 8,703 hectares sea.

This sea and parkland host great natural wealth: important seabird colonies, endemic species and one of the best preserved seabeds of the Mediterranean

Due to the weather conditions there is a predominant kind of vegetation, garrigue, which is a low, soft-leaved scrubland found on limestone soils around the Mediterranean basin, generally near the coast
