Starter With your partner come up with a possible answer to the following questions. What do you think is the difference between a communicable and non communicable disease? What can you do to protect yourself from diseases?

Diseases A disease is any disorder that causes changes or damage to how the human body and/or mind work. The study of disease is called pathology. Which includes the study of cause.

Diseases There are two different classifications of diseases:
Non Infectious Infectious Non Infectious Diseases are diseases that are not caused by a germ / pathogen and cannot be passed to another living thing. Infectious Diseases are any diseases that is caused by an germ / pathogen that can pass from one living thing to another.

Diseases Sometimes people use another term for disease types.
Infectious Disease = Communicable Non Infectious = Non Communicable Communicable means able to be transmitted to another person

What is a Disorder A disorder is a disruption to regular bodily structure and function. Disorders can be classified into the following areas: Mental/Emotional Mental Illnesses Physical/Structural Genetic Disorder Birth Defect

What is a Syndrome A syndrome is a group of signs and symptoms that together are characteristic of a specific disorder.
