2. Enchanted Woodland Autumn 1
Writing:
We will focus on:
The correct handwriting position and pencil grip.
Introducing the correct use of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
The sequencing of sentences to form a short narrative.
Maths:
We are learning to:
Count and sort objects.
Write numbers to 10 in written and digit form.
Compare numbers and objects.
Introduce the mathematical language, equal, more, greater, less, fewer and the symbols that represent these.
Communication and Language (CAL)
We are learning to:
To listen in a range of situations (whole class, group, individual)
Science:
We are looking at different types of plants and trees this half term as part of our Enchanted Woodland topic. We are investigating evergreen and deciduous trees. We will labelling the different parts of a flower and investigate the function of the parts.
Art, Design
We will be following the work of Andy Goldsworth who makes outdoor sculptures. We will be using natural materials to make works of art and clay to make fictional tree boggarts.

We are focusing on:
Spelling and sequencing the days of the week
Creating structured written work
Using question marks and capital letters for pronouns
Instruction writing
Maths
We are learning to:
Use number bonds
Add together two numbers
Subtract one digit numbers
Solve one step problems using objects to aid us
Science and P.E
We are learning to:
Identify and name a range of everyday materials and which objects are made from them
Master how to catch and throw as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination
Reminders
Wear correct uniform and bring full P.E kit in on a Monday.
Homework and reading books are due on Wednesday.
Name all clothes clearly please.
