Solutions for Nuclear Power Industry
3
Nuclear Power Scenario Today
First commercial nuclear power stations in the world started operation in the 1950s. Over 440 commercial nuclear power reactors operable in 31 countries, with over 390,000 MW of total capacity. India has a flourishing and largely indigenous nuclear power programme and expects to have 14.6 GWe nuclear capacity on line by 2024 and 63 GWe by 2032. It aims to supply 25% of electricity from nuclear power by 2050. NPCIL supplied 35 TWh of India's electricity in from 5.3 GWe nuclear capacity, with overall capacity factor of 83% and availability of 88%.

Selection of Materials & Welding Consumables
ASME Section III — Rules for Construction of Nuclear Facility Components provides general requirements which address The material, Design and fabrication, Examination and testing and overpressure protection of the items specified within each respective Subsection, assuring their structural integrity. Welding consumables Selection – Critical and in compliance with the applied code. The welding consumables must be of reliable high quality, meet to the mechanical (strength/toughness at different temperatures) and chemical requirements (e.g. high resistance to neutron irradiation brittleness) and have good weldability. Ador Welding Group -The leading Indian company to provide welding solutions-has developed several welding consumables (SMAW/MIG/TIG/SAW) for nuclear industries. Involved in indigenously development of SMAW electrodes and SAW –wire and flux combination for Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel fabrication.
