3 Monday Warm-Up How do geographic factors contribute to the economic development of Texas? The government controls what is produced. The culture is determined by regions. It is limited by the history of the area. Resources and climate provide job opportunities.

5 The United States Constitution
On September 17, 1787 the United States Constitution became the “Supreme Law of the Land.” The Constitution sets up rules and laws for the United States government. There have only been 27 amendments or changes to the Constitution.

19 Why it Matters The Native Americans who inhabited Texas led varied lives. Some were farmers and some were hunters. Some lived in skin tepees, and others in brush huts. The diversity of Texas’ land and climate was reflected in the lifestyles of the Native Americans.

20 The Impact Today Native Americans in Texas live both upon reservations and in the cities and small towns of the state. Pride in Native American culture is demonstrated at frequent festivals and tribal gatherings. All people – not just Texans – benefit from crops and customs developed by Native Americans
