There are two kinds of predicates: Simple predicates (which is just the verb): Complete predicates give more information: Mr. Matt is. Mr. Matt likes. Mr. Matt is from Canada. Mr. Matt likes to eat pizza in his pajamas on Saturdays.

2 ACTION VERBS Action verbs are part of a predicate, but are used for doing or thinking something. You must always remember that third-person verbs are (almost) always different! I walk We walk You walk You walk He/She/It walks They walk

5 ACTION VERBS Don’t forget that the same rules apply to “do” when you have a negative sentence. But the main verb doesn’t change for any person. I don’t walk We don’t walk You don’t walk You don’t walk He/She/It doesn’t walk They don’t walk

6 ACTION VERBS What part of these sentences are the predicates?
He walk my dog every morning. I watch TV in the living room. My dad carries my backpack to school. You listen to the radio in the car on your way to school.

7 ACTION VERBS What action verb can go in the space?
(There are many answers, give me one that make sense) (It can be more than one word; like a phrasal verb) We _______ baseball on Fridays. My mom ______ delicious spaghetti. I _______ my hair in the morning. That dog ______ its ball in the park.
