3 Fundraising Tips 1. Decide how much money your group needs to make 2. Watch for hidden costs (shipping, tax, etc.) 3. Take time to adequately prepare 4. Timing—stagger wit other fundraisers 5. Set up specific dates and stick with them 6. Try to conduct fewer and more effective programs—avoid fundraiser fatigue 7. Research fundraising companies, then rely on their expertise 8. Communicate clearly before, during, and after about goals, deadlines, and procedures 9. Keep copies of the order forms 10. Recruit adult volunteers ahead of time

4 Avoid the Most Common Booster Club Mistakes
Actively recruit underclassmen parents Don’t conduct consecutive and/or multiple fundraisers Maintain a mission and vision statement Ensure a formal process for accounting policies and procedures Maintain contact with alumni, business supporters, and other local organizations Keep sight of the purpose of a booster club Stay in-tune with district and school policies Establish a working relationship with school administrators and coaches

Communicate with coaches and building administration in regard to the proposed fundraising needs Follow proper protocols Direct questions and concerns to the building athletic coordinators
