2. Architecture competition for city block 10016
University is arranging the competition in 5/ /2016
Landowners: Senaatti and ACRE
City planning committee’s aims for the planning of the Otaniemi central area
The goal is to place commercial and other services, university’s facilities, students’ and organisations’ spaces and student housing in to the block. A mixed city structure with a variety of different functions is desirable.
AYY’s interest includes also other parts in the competition, in addition to Student Center.

Aalto student organisations’ idea for a common building has been discussed several times in AYY’s history. For example, as a part of the reconciliation in property dispute and TF’s Träffpunkt Aalto project in 2014.
