Other questions to be addressed/ reviewed? Number of committee members, more defined determination of what “outside” is.

8 Committee Reports Concurrent degree, Double degree, and co-major programs: Carleton Basmajian (chair), Matt O’Neal, George Weston, Travis Sapp, Natalie Robinson How can the defined programs be more clearly defined and distinguished? (especially double degree and concurrent, but also co-majors)  What are the perceived benefits and outcomes of the double degree programs?  How do you document integration in a double degree program?  What is the equitable assignment of “non-overlapping” credits in a double degree program that includes a degree with a large number of credits? Can we agree on a percentage of “non-overlapping credits” instead of a set number?      Double degree programs –as worded now- require integration of the two subject areas in the exam.  If one of the participating programs does not include an exam or thesis, should this be considered a concurrent degree?

9 Committee Reports Expired Course policy –Drena Dobbs (Chair) George Winston, Sebastian Speer Currently 24 credits can be between 11 and 17 years and 12 can be over 17. First option: Make it more clear that a total of 36 credit hours over 11 years old are allowed, but only 12 of those can be over 17 years. Second option: Allow 36 credits (never more) over 11 years old Add sentence to encourage the POSC to ensure that possible deficiencies due to older courses are addressed with research, independent study, courses, or seminars

10 Committee Reports Admission policy review: Reviewed by the Executive Committee : Deb Marquart, Ken Moore, Gary Munkvold Endorsement of elimination of provisional admission Elimination of restricted status may increase the number of requests for exceptions and perhaps more tracking at the program level. GC should consider process and standards (GPA) required for requests for exceptions.
