Fusion reactions with light stable and neutron-rich nuclei:
pathway to synthesis of new heavy nuclei V. Rachkov, A. Karpov, V. Saiko JINR, Dubna Motivation Theoretical approach (Fusion + Evaporation) Results and Conclusions The topic of my presentation today is Fusion reactions with light stable and neutron-rich nuclei: pathway to synthesis of new heavy nuclei with Z = 102 – 107. I have divided my presentation into three parts. First of all, I would like to talk about motivation. Then let us briefly consider the theoretical approach. Finally, I would like to say a few words about results and conclusions. 121st session of the Scientific Council,

In the slide, you can see the top part of nuclear map.
We can see, that for elements with Z more than 100 only neutron-deficient isotopes have been synthesized so far. However, the region of heavy neutron-rich isotopes is not investigate. This knowledge is very important for understanding of the r-process of astrophysical nucleogenesis. The isotopes from this region can be produced in the fusion reactions of stable and radioactive neutron-rich projectiles with actinide targets and evaporation of charged particles (proton or alpha) and neutrons from the compound nucleus.

I would like to note, the experiments to study fusion reactions (such as 22,23Ne+actinid targets with evaporation pxn and axn channels) can be carry out in the SHE factore in the Flerov laboratory. To study of this reactions is very important to have experience to registration of pxn and axn channels. This mechanism can be used for synthesis of new super heavy neutron-enrich isotopes. For example, the neutron-enrich isotopes of Moscovium can be produced in this reactions, which was proposed by Yu. Ts. Oganessian.

The interactive nuclear knowledge system
The NRV web knowledge base is a unique interactive research system: Allows to run complicated computational codes Works in any internet browser supporting Java Has graphical interface for preparation of input parameters and analysis of output results Combines computational codes with experimental databases on properties of nuclei and nuclear reactions Contains detailed description of models

Conclusions Fusion reactions of light ions with actinide targets can be used for synthesis of new neutron-enriched isotopes of transfermium elements with Z = 102 – 107. Fusion reactions 20O, 22,23Ne + 248Cm, 249Bk, 249Cf were studied in this work with the use of NRV ( knowledge base. It was found that 11 new isotopes can be produced in these reactions in xn, pxn and axn channels with the cross sections ranging from 10 pb to 105 pb. These results may be useful for planning and data analysis of the corresponding experiments.
