Map-Works works to gauge the risk of a student not being retained and it measures it in multiple ways. Connectedness to class Connectedness to the university Success in class After Map-Works determines at risk students it allows for administration to set up protocol and resource delimitation to engage that student and help them connect. There are several levels of interaction that can exist within Residence Life RA interaction and conversations Programs and events HD interaction and conversation

15 Pro's and Cons To Map-Works
Tracks a very real threat to First Year students Connects several partners to the success of students that live on campus Gives trackable data of student interactions Supplies needed assessment data for departments to make decision. Focuses pretty heavily on first year experience when there are other factors that could lead to retention issues Pulls in several partners that may have wavering and differing idea on the data's usefulness So much room for error, the system isn't intuitive enough

16 National Residence Life Assessment
Partnership between ACUHO-I and EBI-Map Works Utilizes the CAS Standards and ACUHO-I core competencies as a "measuring stick" for Residence Life offices around the world The assessment tool utilizes input from both residents and resident assistants
