Classifying (5 Categories) 1. resident alien – established permanent residence 2. nonresident alien – short stay 3. enemy alien – citizen whose nation is at war with U.S. 4. refugees – people fleeing to escape persecution/danger 5. illegal alien – comes to U.S. without legal permit ex) passport, visa, entry permit
